Back for another update, readers! Here we find ourselves at the 66% mark of the year . . .
Luna Updates
Luna revisions are just peachy (In that it’s progressing; not saying it’s fun). I’ve been back through the manuscript once, and have made most of the structural changes, so now I need to do the fill-in work between chapters, adding viewpoints where necessary, explaining gaps in the story, etc. I may need to add as much as 20–25k words, though that won’t show in the final draft, since I’ll be trimming a lot down as well. To clarify, I’m not just adding filler at random—I have intentional gaps that need to be filled and could not sit on their own. That said, some gaps were bigger question marks than others, and call for more surgical solutions. That’s why I’m not letting even my alpha readers touch it quite yet. (Soon, guys.)
The print edition (paperback and hardback) are now up for pre-order on Amazon and Barnes & Noble, and eBook available through just about every outlet except Kindle. You won’t be able to pre-order it at all through Kindle, so that will be up when it releases Jan. 6, 2026.
— Draft 2.0 Progress: ~40% (structure down, writing to go) —
Gaea Marketing
I am now advertising Gaea, Book #2 of The Mother Trilogy. Earlier this year, I ran a few ad campaigns on Amazon—and one on Royal Road—with a bit less success than hoped. I chose to wait on advertising again until I was solidly confident in my second novel, which I now am thanks to the recent updates. It’s generally recommended to only advertise the first book in a series, but in this case I’m doing it because I have Mani up for free on Royal Road. I’m trying to let people know that folks can go try out the first book entirely free, especially when I’m running a sale on Book #2, like right now.
Royal Road
Tales from the Earthen Sky: Act II — Outlining, writing, preparing for launch . . . I’ve got the first chapter scheduled to release Sept. 26th on Royal Road, pending a few edits once I’ve gotten more chapters down. Still shooting for ten by release, but I doubt I’ll get achieve so generous a head start, given how much time I’m devoting to finishing Luna. (Trying to juggle them both.) The release schedule will again be one chapter per week. More updates to come!
Book Reviews
Coming shortly.
We shall resume when the eternal maw of time chips away at the remaining 33% of the year. Cheers!
