Overview
I hope you like to fly, because everyone else here in the Great Sky can. Many tribes and races call it home, each with some manner of wings to enable flight, and they dwell on islands scattered from east to west, north to south. Above all stretches the infinite Earth; below, the endless and impassable cloud barrier. The storms within those clouds hold only death, but as for the forbidden Earth . . . who is to say except the Magnates, the only explorers who have returned? They once braved the terrors within its cavernous expanses and beheld its wonders, supposedly achieving the legendary enlightenment and power held therein. But they keep their lips well sealed.
Solis Lightwing, a youth of the Tapiq tribe, intends to find out for himself, to be the first in decades to pierce the mysteries held in the Earth and discover what the Magnates want to hide from everyone.
Tales from the Earthen Sky is a YA-level exploration fantasy with progression elements. Act I, which introduces Solis and other key characters and their lofty aspirations, is complete at 80,000 words, and Act II is live now. Follow to be updated as soon as Act II begins, and to support the growth of this story!
While not “YA” in the typical sense (no sappy love stories, no teen angst, no hyperemotional internal dialogue, no unhealthy grudges against society), I’d recommend Tales from the Earthen Sky for teenage readers—PG-13-level action and violence, with relatively mature themes. Enjoy!

06/19/2025: Act I is complete at just over 80,000 words. Plans are underway for the second act of a projected four. I’ll be working on material for Act II this summer in between finishing Luna and editing it, and I’ll pick back up releasing weekly chapters later this summer.

Was that an ironic joke done on purpose or a typo?
It did look a little awkward, but i read it like this; “My dog is no watchdog”. But you could also just say, “My dog is not a watchdog.”
