Hello, readers! Author Jacob Gamber here,

Luna Updates

July has passed in a blink, my friends. It twittered away for a moment, threw some scorching heat at us, and then was gone in a silent flutter of wings. Ah, poetry. Yeah, that’s . . . probably enough for this year.

Anyway, I’m pleased to announce that I’m done with the initial draft of Luna. For those of you that are new here, Luna is the conclusion of my debut trilogy, and will be launching next January (barring setbacks). I’m quite proud of how Gaea, Book Two, turned out, and am hoping this one is even better. We shall see how readers react. Coming up with a satisfactory ending was a bit like wrestling an alligator, in that I’m still not done and I’m fighting for my life with it. As expected, I ended up skipping over certain difficult scenes or writing placeholder ones, which I’ll come back to in my first editing rounds. It sits currently at around the final length of Book One, so the final word count will depend largely on whether I’ll be adding or cutting more.

The plan going forward is to give it some time and come back in mid–late August to start revisions. I should also have it up for pre-order on Amazon and other sites soon.

Other Projects

The Mother Prequel has yet to be get a title, and thus, still no Goodreads page. But I plan to have updates for you on it in my next newsletter.

Tales from the Earthen Sky: Act II is still in planning, as—again—I’ve been focusing on finishing Luna. As of now, we’re looking at September before I resume uploading chapters, since I want to build up a backlog first.

Book Reviews

No book reviews this month. I DNF’d (did not finish) one, and the other doesn’t count, since it’s my own book. I had to go back through Gaea (Mother: Book Two) to smooth out a few errors that were left in it. I’ve reuploaded the files for the eBook/Kindle editions, and print editions will follow later this week. Going back through it, I will say I’m definitely satisfied with how it turned out. I feared I would hate it or tire of re-reading it again, but that wasn’t at all the case. One self-critique would be that the book is rather open-ended. While it answers a lot of questions, many storylines are left open for the third and final book, so hopefully that doesn’t frustrate too many readers. Overall, I enjoyed it. Of course, we’ll see what readers have to say once I (hopefully) garner a few more reviews on it. I decided against marketing Gaea until I’d gotten a chance to go back over it and be certain of the presentation quality—so I guess that will be my next step.

That sums up this month’s episode. Thanks for reading, and I’ll see you in August!
