Welcome back to another newsletter, folks! Hope y’all are doing great and staying cool (those in the northern hemisphere).
Luna Updates
Halfway through the year now, ending the second quarter with a bit of a lackluster month of writing progress. Between a freak sickness, allergies and the weather . . . I don’t know, it’s just been tough. Still got thirty thousand words further in Luna somehow, thanks to a few really good days.

I’m confidant that I can still finish the first draft next month. It’s . . . actually starting to take shape. This means we should still be on target for January/February of next year. I was getting a bit scared that I’d bitten off more than I could chew with this one, as I’ve never dealt with so many plot threads in one novel. I’m starting to see the light through the tunnel, how I can weave them together and tie everything up well (I swear I’m trying). I’ve never ended a series before, so it’s a unique experience.
Other Projects
Tales from the Earthen Sky is now on hiatus, as I’ve finished Act I and am actively planning for Act II, which I hope to launch before long. You can check out my new Goodreads Page for more info on the series and my plans for it. I’m getting pretty excited for it! Though now I need to pace myself and manage my time so that I can get Luna out on time, as well as my upcoming novella. Speaking of . . .
It’s generally accepted these days that authors (particularly self-published ones) should have some sort of free eBooks to give away as “reader magnets”—that is, as a reward for signing up for their newsletter. I’ve found out for myself that it’s incredibly difficult to build any type of email following, so I think this will be a good strategy. It also goes with my general business philosophy which gravitates toward giving consumers as much content as possible (such as on Royal Road) for free, in hopes that good will builds further good will—resulting in a following over time. Regardless, this is a story I’ve wanted to flesh out for a while: a prequel to The Mother Trilogy. It will follow a select few characters from both Mani and Gaea, shedding extra light on Lyn’s origins. It will be written such that new and returning readers can equally enjoy it, keeping the spoilers to a relative minimum while offering something new as well. I’ll have a Goodreads page up for it as soon as I get a solid outline for it and a title. The former might be easier than the latter.
That’s about all I have for now. As always, I’ve got other irons in the fire, but I’ll wait to tell any more. Adios, and see you soon!
