Blog Goals

Before I launch any real content on here, I want to take a moment to lay out in detail what I plan to do with my blog, just so we’re all on the same page. And just so that I’m not the only one who knows this, I am intending most of this stuff to target those wishing to publish a novel or other book, mostly because that is where my strongest interests lie.

My main purposes are to:

• Encourage other writers to hone their craft and push themselves farther
• Share helpful advice from the experience of myself and other writers
• Post interesting articles on a wide range of whacky writing things
• Motivate myself and continuously learn throughout the whole journey

First and foremost, I want to be a source of encouragement to other up-and-coming novelists, to motivate all of you aspiring fiction writers out there toward the same goal that I have – to publish your novel. This is the end (or perhaps more accurately, the start) goal of many writers the world over, and a worthy pursuit for anyone, whether you hope to make it big and sell millions of books or just tell the world a story. But also to any writers out there who are not interested in novels – perhaps you wish to publish a non fiction work or online articles or whatever else your heart desires – you can eventually accomplish those goals.

I also want to give helpful advice, drawn from my own experience and that of others, to those in the writing hobby/business; advice on how to write. There are many topics to explore in the realm of writers building other writers up. There is so much to good writing techniques and habits, proper English usage, and also different outlets for writing, from fiction writing to blogging.

Along the way, I will try to post fresh articles about different novel-writing trivia, writing hacks, English tricks and the suchlike, mostly for the purpose of entertaining someone out there who likes to read intriguing nonsense, helpful or not.

And last but not least, I hope to improve myself through this blog along with any readership I may (hopefully) pick up. It should help to motivate me and also be a great way to learn about writing, and of course I’m open to any and all feedback! Like it? Hate it? Think I’m better suited for mopping diner floors than writing blog posts…? Maybe you just don’t like my drab vocabulary (who knows, I might agree with you) – just say so, and I’ll respond in turn!
